Mona-Guard Block is a unique, water based resin, liquid surface and sand joint sealer. Mona-Guard Block has special properties, which allow it to bond sand in the joint whist still maintaining a degree of flexibility. When applied to the surface of concrete / clay pavement materials, Mona-Guard Block also functions as a surface sealer that provides and easy clean surface with protection against water and forms of staining agents such as oil etc.

On newly laid projects, Mona-Guard Block should be applied during pavement construction ensuring minimum preparation is required. On old paving, remove all dirt, debris, weed growth, oil and any other contaminants. This can be acheived by utilsing the listed Monaseal preparation products contained within this TDS.
In general, the surface must be sound, clean, dry, free from frost, laitance, weed growth, oil, grease and all dust, loose and friable materials must be completely removed from surfaces prior to application.
NOTE - Existing projects will need more aggressive cleaning in order to remove 20mm – 30mm of existing joint sand, a pressure washer is required. Mona-Guard Block cannot be applied to old jointing sand.
